Clay shrugged. “You’ve dated other women separately before, fucked them separately here. Just don’t make the same mistake we made and settle for anything less than what you really want.”
Ryder shrugged, saying nothing. There really wasn’t anything to say.
A half smile played at his lips when King came into the room leading four women, naked except for the masks over their eyes, to play the game they all looked forward to each month. Their hands had been tied behind their backs and, despite their squeals and struggles, they were eager participants.
The identities of the women changed from month to month, the waiting list for this particular game longer than anyone could have imagined, but the game remained the same. The women got to live out a fantasy, and the men got a beautiful and willing woman to enjoy for the evening. Each woman had the same safe word for this game. Bull’s-eye.
For the men who played it, having the same word each time made it easier, and there was never any confusion.
The women would have been stripped by King, Royce, and Blade, blindfolded, and had their hands tied behind their backs in preparation of the auction that would be taking place in just a few minutes.
The women would then be turned over to the man or men who’d won them.
They would be “inspected” on stage and in front of an enthusiastic audience in a way guaranteed to arouse them. The men enjoyed that part as much as the women, teasing the women until their juices coated their thighs and their arousal had been raised to a fevered pitch.
Rio leaned on the bar, his lips twitching at the boisterous crowd, and had to raise his voice to be heard. “What’s she look like?”
Shrugging again, Ryder pushed the warm beer aside and ordered another. “She’s cute. Long, dark hair. Short. Curvy. She’s got big, sad eyes and…” Realizing he’d already said too much, he snapped his mouth shut and took a sip of his fresh beer.
Clay nodded and leaned closer to be heard. “Those sad eyes’ll get you every time. When Jesse first got here, hers damned near broke my heart.”
Ryder snuck a look at his watch again. “I think I’m going home now. Not much going on tonight anyway.”
Clay raised a brow and looked pointedly toward the stage. “You’re kidding, right? You and Dillon usually bid on one of these girls together. You’re not going to bid solo tonight?”
“No.”
Clay and Rio exchanged another one of those looks and settled back to watch the show.
Rio chuckled. “Law and Zach are here tonight. Hunter and Remington. Lucas, Devlin, and Caleb. Logan’s here. John and Michael. Hell, even the Madisons are here. Not enough girls to go around, which means King arranged everything this month. He loves the excitement of having the men worked up and fighting over them. The bidding’s going to be fierce.”
Ryder shrugged and said nothing. As soon as the other men got into a bidding frenzy, he could make his escape and no one would even notice.
He watched in disinterest as Royce and King secured each of the women to a post in the semilit back of the stage and Royce brought the first woman forward into the light.
His interest reappeared when he saw that the woman had long, dark hair that fell in a silk curtain down her back, much like Ally’s.
His eyes automatically trailed down her body, taking in her lush curves as his gaze slid to her bare mound. He reached for his glass, taking another sip of beer to ease the dryness in his mouth as he wondered if Ally kept her mound bare.
Irritated at the direction his thoughts had taken, he looked away. It didn’t matter to him. She preferred Dillon and would be gone soon anyway.
Assuring himself he didn’t give a shit what she did, he turned back to see Hunter and Remington move forward.
Hunter could always be counted on to rile up the men and usually prolonged the bidding by demanding that each part of the women be displayed and inspected. He had a hell of a dark side, which would increase the excitement in the room even more. He and Remington wouldn’t bid seriously until the last woman had been led up on stage and then would play with her mercilessly before they finally topped the highest bid.
Hunter stepped forward, leaning against the raised stage, his usual place at the auctions, and scanned the table of items set up for their pleasure. “Are her nipples sensitive?”
Royce grinned, knowing the women couldn’t see it and used his coldest tone. “It’s your job to inspect the property you’re bidding on.”
Hunter picked up the small whip from the table, one that had just a flat piece of leather at the end. To the delight of the crowd, he reached up with it and traced the piece of leather over one the woman’s nipples.
Her reaction, although expected, excited the crowd.
She cried out and twisted, trying to escape Royce’s grip, her excitement at the game evident. “No. Don’t touch me.”
Royce lifted her to her toes. “Behave yourself or I’ll paddle your ass right here in front of everyone. Now stick those breasts out and show them what they’re getting.”
“Go to hell.”
Hunter brought the tip of the whip down on her nipple with a snap, but remained silent so she wouldn’t know who’d delivered it.
Not knowing where it came from, or even if her future master had delivered the stroke, would make her nervous and increase her level of excitement.
At her cry, King lifted her chin from the other side. “You’ve been told to behave. Do you really want to set a bad example for your new masters?”
Even from where he sat, Ryder saw her shiver. It had already become obvious that she wanted to be dominated, to have a master who would overcome her struggles.
She wanted a fight and wanted to be taken.
Remembering the fire that flashed in Ally’s eyes, he groaned at the rush of blood to his cock, engorging it and making sitting here downright painful.
Shifting his position, he took another sip of his beer and watched the stage.
As he’d expected, Devlin raised the bid.
“I want to see her clit.”
Even from here, he could hear the woman’s gasp of excitement over the sudden silence in the room.
As Royce held the woman still and hooked a foot around hers, King used his own foot to pull the other toward him, effectively spreading her legs so wide her thighs trembled. Reaching down, King separated her folds, exposing her clit and pussy to the crowd.
The men smiled and looked at each other when she whimpered, and her knees gave out.
Royce smacked her ass, making her jolt. “Stand up straight so you can be inspected. Stick that pussy out. These men want to see what they’re buying.”
Her skin glowed beneath the bright light shining on her, the glistening of her inner thighs clearly visible. Her limbs shook with the effort to stand still as Hunter teased her clit with the tip of the whip.
Remington leaned back in his chair, propping his feet on another in front of him, clearly enjoying himself. “Turn her around. Let’s see her ass.”
Grinning, Royce turned her to the excited yells of the crowd.
Clay chuckled from beside him. “These guys sure know how to get the woman all worked up. Look how hard she’s shaking. I wouldn’t be surprised if she comes right there on stage.”
Rio laughed softly from his other side. “They won’t let her. It’s not like anyone in this room, other than the Madisons, hasn’t had enough practice. They’re just as worked up. It wasn’t so long ago that we would have been right in there with them.”
Clay shook his head and looked at his phone again. “Christ, Jesse’s taking a long time.”
Ryder’s cock throbbed as he thought about exposing Ally in the same way as the woman on the stage, and no matter how hard he fought it, the vision just wouldn’t go away. With her innate shyness, it would be more of a thrill to make her expose herself to him. He’d bet his truck that her false bravado would melt at his demands, but if he taught her the pleasure she could receive by obeying him, she would do it.
His cock jumped painfully, and he swallowed a groan along with another sip of beer.
A voice called from the crowd. “Bend her over. Spread her ass cheeks. I want to see that tight hole.”
Ryder’s lips twitched at the distressed cries from the other women standing bound at the back of the stage. The knowledge that they would be subjected to the same kind of treatment would heighten their arousal, one of the reasons they all did it.
So the other women would know.
And anticipate.
If he ever had a woman of his own, he’d make sure to let her know what he had planned for her, teasing himself, Dillon, and her. The image of a naked Ally between him and Dillon flashed through his mind, and he quickly took another sip of his beer and pushed it away.
Sobering, he sighed and looked away from the crowd by the stage.
For years, Dillon had talked about finding a woman and the two of them settling down with her. He’d gone along with it, never believing it would happen.
He’d been right.
Dillon had already started to fall for Ally, and the two of them seemed to get along better without him in the middle.
Restless now, he looked back at the stage in time to see Caleb squirting a healthy amount of lube onto his middle finger.
“I want to see how tight her ass is before I bid again.”
Oh, hell. The mental image of bending Ally over and lubing her for his exploration of her luscious ass had moisture leaking from his cock.
The woman’s squeal brought him back to the present, and he looked, smiling as she fought Royce and King’s hold. She cursed and screamed but never used her safe word and actually arched her back and spread her legs wider.
Caleb grinned deviously as he approached her and ran a hand over her ass before separating her cheeks with a firm hand, lifting them, and exposing her puckered opening. With no teasing, he pushed past the tight ring of muscle and into her.
The silence that followed was filled with erotic tension as she stood on her toes and whimpered, only to shudder on a moan when Caleb began to move his finger, fucking her ass with it for the enjoyment of the audience.
“Oh, yeah. She’s tight. She’ll take my cock real good. She likes having her ass filled. It’ll be used well tonight.” He put in the final bid and slid his finger from her.
To thunderous applause, Caleb led the flushed woman off the stage toward where Devlin and bored-looking Lucas stood waiting.
As they led her to one of the rooms set up for tonight, Ryder fought an irrational surge of jealousy. The dark-haired beauty reminded him too much of Ally for comfort.
Disgusted with himself, he came to his feet with the intention of leaving. When his cell phone rang, he dug it out, hoping it was work related. Seeing Dillon’s number on the display, he cursed and actually considered not answering. Staring at the phone, he took another sip of beer to ease his suddenly dry throat.
“You gonna get that?”
Without looking up at Clay’s question, Ryder sighed and took the call, lifting the phone to his ear. “You finished already? Did you even feed her before you fucked her?”
Ignoring Clay and Rio’s almost identical looks of surprise, Ryder headed for the door just as the bidding started for the next woman.
Dillon paused before answering, his tone cool. “No, we haven’t eaten yet. That’s why I’m calling.”
Ryder kept walking in an effort to get away from the noise. “Why, to tell me how good she was?”
He hated the bitter words as soon as they came out of his mouth but couldn’t seem to help himself.
Another long silence followed, making him feel even worse, before Dillon spoke again.
“Look, I just called to tell you I’m spending the night here. I’ll see you some time tomorrow.” Dillon disconnected before Ryder could say anything else, which was probably a good thing.
Cursing, and even more disgusted with himself, he went through the door Sebastian, the butler, held open and started down the steps just as Ethan and Brandon appeared at the bottom.
Brandon’s smile fell when he saw him. “Don’t tell me the auction’s over.”
Shaking his head, Ryder started past them. “No, they’re on the second woman now. You’d better hurry. It’s a full house tonight.”
Ethan nodded. “So you’re leaving to go sit with Dillon. Good, he looked really shaken. I told him if he needs something to call me. When I checked on them a few minutes ago, she’d already gone back to sleep.”
Ryder stopped in his tracks, spinning to grab Ethan’s arm. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Furious that Ethan had obviously spent time with Ally, he clenched his hand into a fist at his side. Reminding himself that he had no reason to be angry, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“I don’t give a damn. Fuck her all you want to. I’m going home.”
Releasing Ethan’s arm, he turned away again, only to have Ethan grab his arm and pull him up short. He was so angry that he actually started to swing, but came up short, even before Ethan moved to block his punch.
No piece of ass was worth losing a good friend.
Ethan released his arm, but got in his face.
“What the hell are you talking about? Fuck her all I want to? Are you out of your mind? I let Dillon in when she didn’t answer the door, and he hurried up and covered her leg so I couldn’t even see that. She took some pain medication and muscle relaxer, and it knocked her out. It scared the hell out of Dillon. He’s sitting with her to make sure she’s all right. Hell, he’s like a fucking watchdog with her.”
“What?” Ryder’s stomach dropped. “Pain pills? She’s hurt? Why the hell didn’t he tell me that?” He spun away, racing to his truck. With squealing tires, he made the short ride to the hotel next door, one that seemed longer than normal, cursing himself as he recalled his conversation with Dillon.
Tense with fury, he strode to her room. Banging on the door with more force than necessary didn’t make him feel any better. As soon as Dillon threw the door open, Ryder stormed inside.
“What the fuck’s going on? What’s wrong with Ally?”
* * * *
Alison woke from a sound sleep to the sounds of yelling and banging. Wondering if she’d fallen asleep with the television on, she rolled to her back, breathing a sigh of relief that once again she’d defeated the pain. Recognizing Ryder’s angry tone, she frowned and opened her eyes just in time to see him storm past Dillon into her hotel room and toward her.
“What the hell’s wrong with you?”
Blinking at the attack, she searched her memory for something that would explain why he and Dillon would be in her room. Alarmed at the fierce look on Dillon’s face as he shut the door and came to sit on a chair that now sat at her bedside, she met his searching gaze before slanting a look at Ryder.
“According to my ex-boyfriend and you, any number of things.”
Not liking how vulnerable she felt lying in bed with Ryder looming over her, Alison struggled to a sitting position, pulling her robe tighter around her and trying unsuccessfully to avoid Dillon’s attempt to help her.
She looked around, immediately remembering everything and patted the bed beside her. “What time is it? Where’s my phone? Where’s my purse?”
Damn it, why hadn’t her alarm gone off? She groaned inwardly when she remembered she’d turned her phone off after Danny’s call.
Now she found herself alone in her hotel room with Dillon and Ryder and only a robe for protection.
Dillon nodded toward the other chair. “Your purse is over there. Your cell is on the dresser.” He picked up her prescription bottles from the end table next to him and shook them.
“And your pills are right here. You want to tell me what these are for?”
Memories of what happened right before he left the room came flooding back. She’d almost convinced herself that it had been a dream, but the look in his eyes said otherwise. Filled with knowledge
and a possessive intimacy that increased her sense of vulnerability, his gaze proclaimed ownership as it swept over her.
Reminding herself that her previous response meant nothing—after all, her mind had been fuzzy at the time—she pulled the blanket and robe more tightly around herself and lifted her chin, ignoring Ryder, who stood glaring at her from the end of the bed.
“None of your business.”
Reaching out, Dillon brushed the hair off of her face, frowning at her forehead. “It’s a little after eight. You stood me up. What’s this scar from?”
Embarrassed, she slapped his hand away and fluffed her bangs back over her forehead.
“Again, none of your business. Now if the two of you don’t mind, I’d like to be alone.”
After making sure the robe covered her, she flung the covers aside, swung her legs over the side, and got to her feet.
Ryder shot a questioning look in Dillon’s direction, one that Dillon ignored.
Reaching out a hand to steady her when she trembled, Dillon crowded close behind her. “Tough. Answer me.”
She shook his hand off, almost falling on the bed in the process. Still too groggy to deal with either one of them, she decided she needed a shower, hoping it would wake her up. She didn’t even look up at Ryder as she passed him, moving straight to her suitcase, and started pulling out clothes. “No. Get out.”
She turned, almost falling again when she ran smack into Dillon’s wide chest. She tried to step around him, but he caught her by the shoulders. Sucking in a breath, she looked up at him through her lashes. “Excuse me.”
With a small smile, he gestured toward the clothes in her arms. “Good idea. Get a shower and get dressed, and we’ll go get something to eat. Or better yet, get a shower and put your robe back on. We’ll go get something from the restaurant and bring it back here. When was the last time you ate?”
When Ryder moved in behind her, she felt a momentary flare of panic and tightened her hold on the clothing she held in front of her. She pressed her thighs together as a rush of heat raced through her and settled at her slit, the sensation of being surrounded by such raw masculinity almost too enticing to resist. Staring at Dillon’s chest, she shook her head, desperate for both of them to go and leave her alone.
